.002 The Fleet's Test Drive Meme

The Fleet: Test Drive Meme. 2. Comment with your thread start, with your character name and fandom in the subject line. 3. Tag into other's threads. 4. Have fun! 5. And what happens on the TDM defaults to staying on the TDM (it's not taken in game), unless all players involved agree AND you have mod approval to c&p the thread to the log comm. You must get mod approval. **If you have questions, ask the Mods You've arrived! You've been seen by a coolly efficient (what you hope is a) medical professional - after all they did give you a shot of something. Then you were handed a slew of things you're still trying to process - communication devices, a ring (which is also a key?), a piece of transparent film that's flashing information. And clothing, that was a thoughtful gesture. And then there was the explanation - You've been taken (isn't that a nice way of saying 'kidnapped') by that floating orb of light, you can't leave, but while you're here you get room and board. Is that really a fair trade? Oh, and to top everything off, you have a set of gem like stones set into your chest, that you can't remove. Before you know it, you've moved with the crowd towards the shuttle and now that you are sitting down, it's now suddenly sinking in. You are so very far from home. [NOTE: Please note that the actual arrival process is different from the above scenario - please see the New Arrivals Page for a detailed explanation of the arrival process.] [Cafeteria] You’re hungry, and though the smells coming from the cafeteria are strange, they are alluring. The grumble in your belly tells you it’s worth chancing. [Multipurpose Common Area] You’re bored but haven’t quite worked up the courage to venture out into the greater parts of the station. The common area of the residential community seems like it might provide some distractions. And the view out the large windows lining one wall is simply stunning. [The Center Station Central Gardens] In an environment where spatial expansion is finite, it seems extravagant to house a garden this big. What looks like giant trees at first glance, turn outo be the wire structures that rise up six stores before fanning out actually house various breeds of creeping vines. There are two levels of raised walkways that wind around the vine structures. The ground level also wraps lazily through various plots of vegetation. There is enough variety of plants here to keep anyone interested for hours. [Cemetery Ring] If you’re in more for a somber atmosphere, the Cemetery Ring is open to everyone. The first sign posted outside the door reads "We are the lights that shines brightest against the night." The sign below it simply says "All are welcome." This wide corridor, that traverses the whole very top of the Inner Rings, is dimly lit, but pinpoints of light twinkle all over the wall. The wall juts out in an effort to create more surface area for memorials to those Owmi who have passed on to the next life since the Owmi started their nomadic journey. The peacefulness of the room is inviting. [Strange Lights - previous plot] Something strange is happening. You've been here just a few days and before you can even get used to the fact you are an abductee of a glowing ball of light, you now have an aura of lights hanging around your head. The colors change, and if you watch them for a moment (from a mirror - they are hard to get a good look of out of the corner of your eye) you notice they match the colors of the gem like stones fixed to your chest. And if you're really observant, you might catch on that the colors and intensity of the lights change with your mood. [Pinkie Pie's Fun Day Celebration - previous plot] Confetti/Glitter Bombs! Sometimes there’s a pair of eyes watching various residents going in and out of their rooms. Or walking around the habitat station at various places. Wherever your character may be, Pinkie is waiting with a bucket full of confetti or glitter. She forgets which one she takes with her since she prepared so many for this day. How she’s getting around without being noticed is a mystery, but that works just fine for her! Common Area Mingling! At the common area, Pinkie has the entire place decked out with balloons, confetti, several piñatas hanging from the ceiling (how did they get up there?!), and an area set up for games. She couldn’t find the actual games like the ones back home, so she had to make them herself. There’s chess, Twister, but instead of boring circles, there’s images of pink icing-covered donuts, chocolate chip cookies, blue cupcakes, and pistachio ice cream cups taped to the floor in four rows of ten, a place to play card games with images of herself in various costumes along with the card suits. There are several cakes with names attached to them on any table she could find. There’s one large cake with no name for everyone and everypony to share! It’s oddly plain, isn’t it? Not suspicious at all! There’s also snacks like fruit, cheese, crackers, cookies, and drinks to enjoy! No alcohol, though! Sorry! This party is rated G! And of course the party has piñata. A blindfold and stick are ready for the first challenger! Choose any piñata there! One looks dangerous! They’re filled with candy! Or confetti! Or both! “Step right up, ladies and gentlecolts! Try your luck and break open a piñata!” [NOTE: Please note that Pinkie Pie is no longer in game, so she will not be responding to any threads using this option.] [Planet Exploration: Baj E'oku Prime - current plot] A new opportunity! No longer do you need to wander the giant space Habitat Station. You now get the opportunity to explore a section of the planet Baj E'oku Prime. It's small, tidal locked planet. The area you can explore is dusty and red with surprising wild life. There are canyons and highlands, rivers and caves to explore. (See link for greater details.) What adventures or trouble will you find? |
Narcissa Malfoy | Harry Potter books | Cafeteria
Narcissa was nothing if not tasteful, it showed from her poise to the elegance with which she styled her long blond hair. The clothing she'd been given in lieu of her robes was nothing of her fashion either, drab and shapeless at least they weren't some of the pale pastel things she'd seen. She preferred the dark, rich jewel tones she had worn all her life, and dark red or emerald were never far from her. Here she managed with a dark green though it lacked any sort of depth or character to it.
She still gazed levelly at the woman before her, as if somehow this would change things. "This wouldn't be fed to animals on my estate." But, as it was the first food she'd been able to obtain in nearly a day she took it and whirled on her heel giving every impression that she was doing the servicers a favor to even agree to take their food.
The Blacks would never have stood for this and the Malfoys, well she knew Draco wouldn't accept it until he'd nearly starved himself. Still, if she hoped to discover how to get back to her family she would need to eat, dire times called for dire measures. Things could very well get worse.
Feeling like a common person, a new feeling for her, she wound her way through the cafeteria looking for an empty table. That way she would not, at least, have to speak to these people while she ate.

His grey eyes easily spied his wife among the crowd. Surprise showed briefly in his eyes, at her presence being here. Despite having to wear the clothing here, she managed to outshine everyone in the room. They didn't do her justice at all. He could tell just by the way she stood, she wasn't happy at all.
He strode through the room, his head held high, and his own presence demanding the respect his status reserved. His health had returned since his arrival here, but nothing would get rid of the haunted look from his time in Azkaban and as a servant of the Dark Lord. He was dressed much like the others, his walking stick no longer present. He despised not having it with him.
Lucius approached his wife and place a hand on her shoulder. "Narcissa, please follow me," he said in spoke in a soft tone. He was not going to explain everything here, knowing that the information he would have to give would distress her.

Narcissa was happy for an excuse to pocket some bit of fruit and bread but leave the rest of the food on a table. She had something far better to sustain her now, if her husband was here then so too might the rest of her family. And nothing could stand against them were they united.
She was, however silently she made it, concerned over the pallid drawn lines of his face. He still held himself with pride but there was something taken out of him, something missing. “Where are we going?” She asked once they were out of earshot of the masses.

As much as he was pleased to have his wife by his side once more, he still couldn't help but worry about their son. Nor, did he really want his wife to have the same fate as he had. He tried to hide his own concerns for now.
"How much were you able to learn from their greeting upon their arrival?" Lucius questioned once they were out of ear shot. He would hate to repeat himself and this would give him an idea of what she did or didn't know.

“I understand we are here, against our wills. Home is somewhere far away and,” She waved all that away for the moment, she could only hold off for so long. “What’s happened to you Lucius? Have they done this?” Her hands, soft and surprisingly warm cupped his face. He was still regal and proud but there was a hollowness to it like majestic ruins falling but still magnificent.
If anyone had hurt her family there would be a price, she was demure but when it came to her loved ones she was every bit as fierce as her sister. Perhaps even more so given she had made a family, a home, a life when her sister had given all to serve. Narcissa could discuss this place later, for now she was only concerned with Lucius, and when they could find him, Draco.

"This place was not responsible...I had failed in a mission," Lucius carefully explained. It was clear in his eyes that it pained him to speak of this time. "I was taken to Azkaban for my crimes..."
There was a pause as he debated on going into more detail or not. This had been a dark time for his family. "What-what is the last thing you remember before arriving here?"
no subject
"He commanded it, didn't he? He's always asked too much, taken too much form his followers." Her words were hushed but sharp. She herself had never joined the Death Eaters, but half her family had and her own husband.
"Draco was home for holiday, after the tournament I had a devil of a time talking him out of Drumstrang again. It's too far from us, I can't bear him that far away." So things had indeed escalated, and her family was to suffer for it.
no subject
"Can you blame him? He got to spend time with the Drumstrang students....I only wish we had agreed to letting him go. He would have been safer." He regretfully admitted. At the same time he understood Narcissa's desires to keep her son safe, but knowing what he now knew he wish they had let him go.

"Perhaps it would be best, would have been." Correcting the tense for both their points of view.

Disbelief, even outrage, that he was confronted with yet more temporal impossibilities, but there could be no doubt about her identity. Not when she was just so... Narcissa.
He swallowed hard, his heart was suddenly racing. Every step toward her table felt like wading through water, but this was the cousin he'd twice believed lost forever. He couldn't hide from her. "Cissa," he choked out. "Cissa, you..."

“Re…Regulus?” She trembled so much the tray rattled in her hands, the clattering caught her attention and she steady herself coolly again. She sat the tray ta a table nearby and folded hands in front of her, she had to for they were still shaking.
He was too young, too alive to be here. He’d been a pure Black through and through for most of his life but toward the far too soon end of it there had been rumors. Bellatrix had been loud of course, and Andromeda had been compassionate. It left Narcissa to reserve judgment and word, she never had to speak her mind on it. “I thought the worst.” If that meant he betrayed his cause or that he was dead was not entirely defined in her tone.

Regulus lowered his gaze, face solemn as he struggled with shame for something which he still didn't fully understand. "I'm sorry," he whispered.
Although it was his third month since he had been taken from certain death and brought here, adjusting to his new surroundings had taken everything he had, and he had been glad not to think too much on the before. But now it had caught up to him.
no subject
Sanity? Bella had given her’s gladly. Andromeda paid with exile from the family, as had Sirius. The Black Blood was running far too thin in these days and even Regulus was family now where there were so few others to count.
She released him but retained a grip to his shoulders, looking him over. “Alive if not entirely well I see.”

He pulled a chair close to hers, so close their knees touched. "I can't believe you're here. You have... You're older. You must be a mother now. Cousin Draco. Lucius told me of him. And you're here and..."
Regulus took a deep breath, eyes closed. "I didn't think I would ever see you again."
no subject
She was surprised by his nearness but she didn't flinch or back away, if anything she had gained in poise in her time with Lucius. "I can hardly believe it myself." She drawled with a look around them. "Yes, Lucius and I have a son, you'd adore him. He has a bit of his aunt's spirit but it will even out in time I think. He so looks like his father." A fact that clearly pleased her.
"You were lost to us, there were rumors of course. More than that, you were believed dead. Dead because of Him." She had never spoke it allowed until now but the tone conveyed she was not at all as enamored with the Dark Lord as others in her family. It had already cost them too much and she could only see it getting worse in time.

"I wish I could meet this little boy of yours," he said, a hint of wistfulness to his voice. Himself a mere eighteen years old, he pictured any child of Narcissa as far younger, an adorable little boy with blond Malfoy hair and Black wilfulness. "He will be a force to be reckoned with one day, I'm sure."
Regulus took in the sight of her, just marvelling once again at this miracle. "But you're here now. You've been returned to me. This place is rather dreadful in many ways, and I wish you wouldn't have to be here, but forgive me that I'm glad I get to see you again." He lowered his gaze. "I had hoped I could... But I could not. I died because of him, Cissa. But I didn't die at his hands. I died as a Black should. I didn't die on my knees."
Tiny space Princess is not impressed with your manners. X3
She made a point of being extra polite to the lady behind the counter when she got her food, hoping that the lady was watching. Let her see how much better a little girl's manners were than hers!
When she turned away to find a seat, though she saw the lady looking around the cafeteria, apparently doing the same. Given that she seemed to have dismissed a number of the tables where people already sat, Leia took a guess that she was trying to find a table by herself. Not wanting her to have to waste her time and maybe have her food get cold- thus giving her another point to complain about- Leia opted to go give her a hand.
"Excuses me, ma'am," she said as she approached, once again opting to display her apparently superior manners. "If you're looking for a table by yourself, there's a little one in the corner over there where nobody usually sits unless it's really crowded." She indicated a smaller table, a little further from the door and a little more out of the way than most, which likely explained why it wasn't frequented.
omg she is too cute! No defense for this kind of cute.
Se paused to look over and then slowly down at the petite dark haired girl. She looked common, but even wizards and witches at such an age would rarely display any talent. And she wasn't speaking like a street urchin, so a simple civility would not go amiss here.
Narcissa looked where the girl had suggested and found the table exactly as stated. It would suit her very well indeed. "I see. Thank you child." She inclined her head and moved with grace toward that table.
Nope, no defense at all.
