.002 The Fleet's Test Drive Meme

The Fleet: Test Drive Meme. 2. Comment with your thread start, with your character name and fandom in the subject line. 3. Tag into other's threads. 4. Have fun! 5. And what happens on the TDM defaults to staying on the TDM (it's not taken in game), unless all players involved agree AND you have mod approval to c&p the thread to the log comm. You must get mod approval. **If you have questions, ask the Mods You've arrived! You've been seen by a coolly efficient (what you hope is a) medical professional - after all they did give you a shot of something. Then you were handed a slew of things you're still trying to process - communication devices, a ring (which is also a key?), a piece of transparent film that's flashing information. And clothing, that was a thoughtful gesture. And then there was the explanation - You've been taken (isn't that a nice way of saying 'kidnapped') by that floating orb of light, you can't leave, but while you're here you get room and board. Is that really a fair trade? Oh, and to top everything off, you have a set of gem like stones set into your chest, that you can't remove. Before you know it, you've moved with the crowd towards the shuttle and now that you are sitting down, it's now suddenly sinking in. You are so very far from home. [NOTE: Please note that the actual arrival process is different from the above scenario - please see the New Arrivals Page for a detailed explanation of the arrival process.] [Cafeteria] You’re hungry, and though the smells coming from the cafeteria are strange, they are alluring. The grumble in your belly tells you it’s worth chancing. [Multipurpose Common Area] You’re bored but haven’t quite worked up the courage to venture out into the greater parts of the station. The common area of the residential community seems like it might provide some distractions. And the view out the large windows lining one wall is simply stunning. [The Center Station Central Gardens] In an environment where spatial expansion is finite, it seems extravagant to house a garden this big. What looks like giant trees at first glance, turn outo be the wire structures that rise up six stores before fanning out actually house various breeds of creeping vines. There are two levels of raised walkways that wind around the vine structures. The ground level also wraps lazily through various plots of vegetation. There is enough variety of plants here to keep anyone interested for hours. [Cemetery Ring] If you’re in more for a somber atmosphere, the Cemetery Ring is open to everyone. The first sign posted outside the door reads "We are the lights that shines brightest against the night." The sign below it simply says "All are welcome." This wide corridor, that traverses the whole very top of the Inner Rings, is dimly lit, but pinpoints of light twinkle all over the wall. The wall juts out in an effort to create more surface area for memorials to those Owmi who have passed on to the next life since the Owmi started their nomadic journey. The peacefulness of the room is inviting. [Strange Lights - previous plot] Something strange is happening. You've been here just a few days and before you can even get used to the fact you are an abductee of a glowing ball of light, you now have an aura of lights hanging around your head. The colors change, and if you watch them for a moment (from a mirror - they are hard to get a good look of out of the corner of your eye) you notice they match the colors of the gem like stones fixed to your chest. And if you're really observant, you might catch on that the colors and intensity of the lights change with your mood. [Pinkie Pie's Fun Day Celebration - previous plot] Confetti/Glitter Bombs! Sometimes there’s a pair of eyes watching various residents going in and out of their rooms. Or walking around the habitat station at various places. Wherever your character may be, Pinkie is waiting with a bucket full of confetti or glitter. She forgets which one she takes with her since she prepared so many for this day. How she’s getting around without being noticed is a mystery, but that works just fine for her! Common Area Mingling! At the common area, Pinkie has the entire place decked out with balloons, confetti, several piñatas hanging from the ceiling (how did they get up there?!), and an area set up for games. She couldn’t find the actual games like the ones back home, so she had to make them herself. There’s chess, Twister, but instead of boring circles, there’s images of pink icing-covered donuts, chocolate chip cookies, blue cupcakes, and pistachio ice cream cups taped to the floor in four rows of ten, a place to play card games with images of herself in various costumes along with the card suits. There are several cakes with names attached to them on any table she could find. There’s one large cake with no name for everyone and everypony to share! It’s oddly plain, isn’t it? Not suspicious at all! There’s also snacks like fruit, cheese, crackers, cookies, and drinks to enjoy! No alcohol, though! Sorry! This party is rated G! And of course the party has piñata. A blindfold and stick are ready for the first challenger! Choose any piñata there! One looks dangerous! They’re filled with candy! Or confetti! Or both! “Step right up, ladies and gentlecolts! Try your luck and break open a piñata!” [NOTE: Please note that Pinkie Pie is no longer in game, so she will not be responding to any threads using this option.] [Planet Exploration: Baj E'oku Prime - current plot] A new opportunity! No longer do you need to wander the giant space Habitat Station. You now get the opportunity to explore a section of the planet Baj E'oku Prime. It's small, tidal locked planet. The area you can explore is dusty and red with surprising wild life. There are canyons and highlands, rivers and caves to explore. (See link for greater details.) What adventures or trouble will you find? |

He smiled crookedly, finally eating a few more bites from his plate. "I'm sure you'll get th' hang of it, somehow or another. Maybe you're focusing too much on principals. Sometimes, you just gotta kind'uv do it, you know?
"It's like with our training. Us clones, we've got fighting and soldiering engineered into us. But even for all that we should know, that should come naturally to us, a lot of things can get in th' way. Heh, back when we were still cadets, some'uv us got too caught up in protocol and procedures, and in th' end it really got in the way of getting our training missions done."

"Maybe it'll make sense one day, but right now it's just a challenge and sometimes I think I'm actually improving, then it feels like I know nothing at all. I guess that's why Rex was teaching me to shoot. If I lose my lightsaber then being able to shoot like one of you would be really useful. I might not be a clone but I'm good at running and ducking, and not a bad shot, if I say so myself." He'll grin at Fives, in his own round about way wondering if he'd take the bait to help him continue learning like Rex had done. He wouldn't be disappointed if Fives turned him down, but the idea of getting to learn a few new things from a clone like Fives seemed nothing short of amazing.

He fingered his goatee, brow arching. "Well then, some time we oughta see just how well Rex's taught you, hm?" he suggested, smile quirking slightly on one end. It was a small connection, a link between the captain he'd known, and selfish as he knew it was to be glad that the Orakalla had brought the boy, Fives knew he wouldn't have had any other opportunity otherwise. So long as they were here, make the best of it; that's what he had decided.
"...y'know, you never did give me your name, kid."
no subject
"Guess I'm still scrambled from all of this. I can't feel anything in the Force either, maybe that's what's wrong with me."
no subject
The clone shook his head as he gathered together another bit of food from his plate. "That's to be expected. It's not exactly a great feelin' being yanked into some other place? We're not really even sure where we are- no known part'uv th' galaxy, so far as I can tell." He...will just wait for another time to tell about when he, the general and a few others 'borrowed' a shuttle and tried to leave on their own terms.
"Wouldn't worry about th' Force thing. It's happened with the general and a few others who'd usually be connected to it, from what I've heard. You'll get it back."
no subject
"It's like everything is muffled, like when you're too close to an explosion and you can hear or see or feel anything as clearly as you did before? But wait, your general is a force user here? There are more Jedi?" If he'd been excited before now he was practically ecstatic. More force users, and probably Jedi, it was something he couldn't even fathom.
no subject
He nodded a little as Ezra tries to explain it a little better. "Yeah, my general's here. Jedi Master Anakin Skywalker." He grinned, obviously proud of who he served. "His son used'ta be here too- he'd been training to become a Jedi. An' then there's...this other guy that I think is confused, personally. Sounded like he's got a lot on his shoulders though. Name's Kylo Ren."
Several generations of Force users- it was really strange to him.
no subject
He didn't know Anakin had a son, and certainly didn't know who Kyle Ren was. It wasn't a name he'd ever heard before.
"This has to be a dream. The only Jedi out there are Kanan and I, Ahsoka was but she's not anymore, and then there's all the sith." It made him shiver to think about them, about Vader. "How can there be so many?"
no subject
"...that thing that brings us here, th' Orakalla. It pulls people in from different times, places, universes. So even th' people I know from home aren't from the same point in time as I am. Both th' general and my brother Echo, they're from farther ahead. ...heh. Most everyone from our galaxy is, that I've met here."
It was strange thinking about it that way, and for some reason it also made him feel a little lonely, which he thought was ridiculous given he was hardly alone. But the words could mean different things, couldn't they?
no subject
"THey might be from different times but at least they're people you know Fives. Your brother, your general, they might be from further ahead but at least they know you, they're your friends still." He tried to look on the bright side of things, reaching out and patting Five’s shoulder like Rex had done to him so many times.
"I don't know anyone here, unless you know anyone named Kanan,Hera, Sabine, Zeb, or a droid named Chopper." He shrugged and watched Five’s face for a moment, "And hey, at least you have cool armour to walk around in if nothing else."
no subject
There were a few things he could be thankful for, in being here, but he was still debating on whether it had been worth it to learn those reasons.
"...sorry Ezra, none ring a bell. That's not to say it'd be possible, but for th' moment, I don't recall any of those names coming up on the arrival list."
He smiled crookedly, shrugging. "Maybe. Funny thing, this just appeared one day. My brother's too. Things just appear from back home. I think it's th' same with that connection to the Force."
no subject
"So, I have a question. If you're a clone trooper, where's your bucket? I thought you guys never went far without them."
no subject
Ezra's lightsaber said much about the kid himself, and Fives supposed that if he was fighting to survive against an Empire that despised Jedi so, he needed any edge he could get.
"Huh? Oh!" He laughed. "Back in th' room. After a while it gets a little impractical walking around with it. But th' armor's something I'm more used to wearing than the things they provide."

Hearing about how the boy had amassed a collection of helmets back home was a little weird. "That's an interesting to collect. Heh, borrowed, eh?" Given the things that he'd heard about the Empire, Fives couldn't say that he'd shared any particular love for it. So if they lost a few buckets to a kid, served them right!
no subject
It had served him well, many times, and also being smaller than the average 16 year old so he could fit into weird places and vents that no one else could.
"No one looks at kids, we're mostly invisible, so it's good to use that when you can."
no subject
He hadn't heard much specifically about those working with the Empire, but they certainly seemed to think highly of themselves, given what he could glean from what Ezra had to say about his experiences. "They've got th' wrong idea of who's dumb, then. Now, it'd 'uv been a lot harder for you to do that with the Galactic Army of the Republic. We went under strict training, out in Kamino- born, and raised. ...and given we're all clones, it'd be difficult to sneak someone in who didn't share th' same face."
The more he talked to the freshly arrived teenager, the more Fives couldn't help but like him. Ezra definitely had smarts. While it was unfortunate that such terrible things had befallen him, he was clever and didn't sound like he was the sort to give up so easily. "Kid, you got a good head on your shoulders. I hope you and your friends give th' Empire what they deserve."
