"You call this food? Not fit for a house elf." Her lips curled in a snarling dismissal of the poor woman who handed her a tray of what they called 'food'. It looked like something one might find in a street side muggle cafe and not a meal set with care and hard work and most of all taste.
Narcissa was nothing if not tasteful, it showed from her poise to the elegance with which she styled her long blond hair. The clothing she'd been given in lieu of her robes was nothing of her fashion either, drab and shapeless at least they weren't some of the pale pastel things she'd seen. She preferred the dark, rich jewel tones she had worn all her life, and dark red or emerald were never far from her. Here she managed with a dark green though it lacked any sort of depth or character to it.
She still gazed levelly at the woman before her, as if somehow this would change things. "This wouldn't be fed to animals on my estate." But, as it was the first food she'd been able to obtain in nearly a day she took it and whirled on her heel giving every impression that she was doing the servicers a favor to even agree to take their food.
The Blacks would never have stood for this and the Malfoys, well she knew Draco wouldn't accept it until he'd nearly starved himself. Still, if she hoped to discover how to get back to her family she would need to eat, dire times called for dire measures. Things could very well get worse.
Feeling like a common person, a new feeling for her, she wound her way through the cafeteria looking for an empty table. That way she would not, at least, have to speak to these people while she ate.
