"They did," Leia agreed. Her daddy had known some Jedi, and told her stories, stories quite different from the official histories sanctioned by the Empire. "But they were all killed at the end of the Clone Wars. The Empire said they betrayed everybody and tried to take over."

She paused a moment, debating going on. But Echo obviously didn't believe that either. "I don't believe it, though," she said. "I think the Empire just didn't want them around any more and made up a story so they could get away with it. But don't tell anybody I said that; I don't wanna get my daddy in trouble."

Well, if she'd doubted that Echo was telling the truth before, she didn't now. "My daddy did know him," she said. "He said so when he tells me stories about them." Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi were two of the most frequently mentioned Jedi both in her daddy's stories and official histories.
