It felt very much as though he were waking from a dream, yet in a state of mind that wasn't quite tuned into the present but could only grasp so much of a few moments past. There was the unsettling realization that something was absent, even when the numbness that had accompanied his abrupt arrival had started to fade.
He remembered the stares, the faraway words. He remembered asking questions, for all that his groggy state of mind could manage. Pushing his memory further back, he could remember the shock of cold, the pained breath that had lasted only seconds. Beyond that, well, there was still no logical, feasible explanation other than what had been provided him once he had been properly administered to.
The automated voice above mentioned something about a habitat station. It seemed that the shuttle ride would be over soon, although his thoughts hung upon the words, the language he had heard spoken, understood somehow yet nothing he was certain he had ever heard in all his three-hundred plus years. The Kel Dor took silent stock of himself as he sat there, draped in perhaps the most brightest colors he had ever worn in his entire life. Slowly he got to his feet as the shuttle pulled in, making sure that he had everything that he had been provided with before he began to step towards the exit.
