His eyes weren't fooling him. Much like memorizing everything found within the regulation manuals, he never forgot a face. But the closer he approached the meditating Jedi, the slower his steps became. From what he knew, the jedi were normally able to detect a presence. But after being here and seeing how Anakin (and formerly, Luke) had dealt with the lack of the Force, he thought it would be wiser to not surprise Obi-Wan accidentally.

Those steps did stop eventually once Echo was a safe distance away from the man, taking a breath before he broke the silence.

"General Kenobi."

The ARC Trooper subconsciously stood at attention, visored helmet in place where his line of sight would meet Obi-Wan's gaze.
