A curt exterior was not off-putting for Anakin, in fact, he'd spent many a long day with his former Master's frowning face. So many that Anakin almost felt a sense of rightness at the familiar expression.

Anakin was good at filling silences with loud noises.

"It's been three months-" more or less. "And it wasn't my fault. I've tried to get away." And with that he was overcome with the urge to give Obi-Wan a hug. Three months was interminable for someone who really couldn't sit still for five minutes.

So he stepped forward to do just that, to give his friend a hug.
